On Infant Mortality and the developing world
In earlier posts we examined some of the correlations between Infant Mortality and other variables. The most interesting discovery was the close relationships amongst those variables in the very developed and very undeveloped nations of the world. Norway and Burkina Faso both have very similar correlations between Infant Mortality, Life Expectancy and Adolescent Fertility. A typically impoverished nation like Myanmar sees a correlation for Infant Mortality and Life Expectancy of -0.99 and for Infant Mortality and Adolescent Fertility., 0.99 In developed nation like Czech Republic we see a correlation for Infant Mortality and Life Expectancy of -0.94 and for Infant Mortality and Adolescent Fertility. 0.93.
In particularly violent, crime-ridden or war torn nations we see the correlations disappear. (See the earlier Iraq post).
